How to Recieve Eucharist
Dear Parents,
What an amazing time for your child and your family! preparation to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion should start at home as soon as possible.
Our Sacramental preparation program is a family-oriented program that includes parent’s sessions. This program will help you and your child see the beautiful significance of the Sacraments in your lives in a fun, and memorable way. This program is offered on Wednesday, and it is in addition to regular RE sessions on Sunday.
Combined with weekly Mass attendance, you can start the following practices
We can not stress enough how important it is for your child to attend Mass every week. You’ll strengthen your child’s relationship with God, and put into practice the third Commandment Honoring the Lord’s Day, while helping your child to have a better understanding of the weekly lessons,

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION CHECKLIST
1. Family must be registered at Our Lady of Victory Parish.
2. Open to all children 7 years old or older who were baptized according to the Rite of the Roman Catholic Church.
3. If your child was baptized in a church other than the Roman Catholic Church, you will need to meet with the Religious Education Coordinator to determine the most appropriate formation program for your child.
4. Student and family should be actively participating in weekly Sunday Mass.
5. Student must have completed one full year of religious education with no less than 80% attendance (or Catholic school) and be currently registered and participating faithfully in a second consecutive year of religious education (or Catholic school).
6. For students who attended a Catholic school or are transferring to Our Lady of Victory Church from another parish, registration packet must also include the following:
a. Proof of classes for the previous year, and
b. Proof of enrollment for the current year from that school or church.
7. Parents must schedule an appointment with Father Roy at 850-398-5424 and attend it with their child. At this meeting, students must be able to recite the following prayers from memory:
a. THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
b. OUR FATHER,
c. HAIL MARY
d. GLORY BE.
8. Parents will receive a registration packet from Father Roy. Completed registration packet must be returned to the Religious Education office, no later than a week after your initial appointment.
9. Registration packets must include a copy of your child's Certificate of Baptism upon submission to the office.
a. Baptized at Our Lady of Victory: There is a record of the event in our Parish register. Contact the parish office, 850-682-4622.
b. Baptized in another parish: If necessary, we can assist you with the address and phone number of your child's Church of Baptism for you to request a copy of your child's baptismal certificate. You must provide us with the Name, City, and State of your child's Church of Baptism.

WORKSHOPS
1. Workshops are held on Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:30pm at the Martha and Mary house.
2. Workshops include video and crafts for children, history and sacramental information for parents, and a parent/child session.
3. Homework will be sent home at the parent's meeting and after every workshop. Please make sure to finish it on time for the next workshop.
4. Two retreats are scheduled. One after the completion of the Reconciliation Workshops and one after the completion of the First Communion Workshops.
5. You and your child must attend all workshops and retreats.
6. If for some reason, you are unable to complete the workshops or retreats, you may enroll in the next session to complete the requirements. Therefore, your child will be eligible to receive the Sacrament after the next session is completed.
7. If neither session works, you may apply for the Fall of 2021 or Spring 2022.
CLASS SCHEDULE
We have scheduled two Sacramental Preparation Sessions. At the conclusion of each Session, families will choose the Mass at which their child will receive First Holy Communion (Saturday Vigil at 4:00 PM, Sunday at 9:00 AM, or Sunday at 11:00 AM).

Wednesday, 18 November 2020 First Communion Retreat (Parent and Child)
First Communion Day: Saturday or Sunday, 21 or 22 November 2020 - Feast of Christ the King
SESSION B will conclude with the reception of First Holy Communion on Laetare Sunday, March 13-14, 2021. Class dates are yet to be determined.
